AI search readiness: a ten point self check

Ten checks you can run today to see whether your site is ready to be understood and quoted by Google AI Overviews and Gemini.

1. One brand name everywhere

The company name is identical on your site, Business Profile, LinkedIn and directories.

2. The first paragraph says who you are

Your home page opens by stating who you are, what you offer and where.

3. Each service has its own page

Key services have dedicated pages rather than sharing one.

4. FAQs answer directly

Questions as headings, with the answer in the first sentence.

5. Structured data is correct

Organization, Service and FAQPage markup matches the visible page.

6. Content lives in the HTML

Important text is not locked in images or loaded only after interaction.

7. Robots rules are sensible

Nothing blocks Googlebot or crawlers you intend to allow.

8. Credentials can be checked

Founder background, proof and contact details are clear and credible.

9. Content is dated

Guides and observations show when they were last updated.

10. Re-test on a schedule

Check AI answers for a fixed question set monthly, and keep a record.
